Born on September 29, 1962 in Pjatigorsk, Russia, to a ethnically German family. Name at birth: Paul. Father Singer Richard Gottlibovitch (1919-2007) was a professional musician. Mother Singer Alevtina Innokentyevna (born Dmitrievskaya) (1927-2009) was a Linquist, foreign language teacher. Daughter Singer Olga Pavlovna (born 1989) has a permanent engagement in a symphonic orchestra in Moscow.
